La Liga kick-off Delayed

As feared, the kick-off the Spanish league finally actually delayed. Why, the players association had not yet reached an agreement with the league-related demands they ask.

Spanish Association of Professional Footballers (AFE) throws a strike threat last week. The Association sought assurances from the league (LFP) that player salaries will still be paid even if they strengthen the club went bankrupt. If this demand is not met, then the players in the Primera Division Segunda Division and did not want to compete in two games early in the season 2011/2012.

Several meetings have been held to find a way out of this problem. However, until the last meeting on this day, AFE and LFP still not agree.

With this, the strike continued. That is, the game-first match last week which should be held pending this weekend.

"Today, we put our positions on the table, are very far apart," said chairman of the LFP, Jose Luis Astiazaran, who told Sky Sports.

"We are now concentrating on saving the second week," he added.

AFE and the LFP is scheduled to meet again on Saturday and Monday to discuss the issue.

Although the strike to play in domestic competitions, the club players who competed in European competition likely will continue to go down to compete. Middle of next week, will play Villarreal in the Champions League play-offs, while Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid to play in Europa League play-offs.
